Road shoulder upgrades in the Shire of Mundaring is bringing increased safety for all road users.

We’ve recently completed shoulder improvement works on Old Northam Road in the Shire of Mundaring, WA.

The scope of works on this project required the reconstructing of the existing shoulder, reshaping of the surface drains and the installation of a new kerbing at intersections and other areas nominated by the Shire.

This project was delivered as part of the current state road safety initiative and will improve safety for all users within the local community.

Contracting Manager, Nathan Shaw says the project was delivered at the height of the construction season and with the recent fiscal stimulus there was a shortage on skilled resources and specialised subcontractors.

Despite this, DM Roads and their strong relationship with industry were able to engage the necessary specialised subcontractors to deliver this project meeting critical deadlines whilst delivering a final product that meet the satisfaction of the client and the road user.

“As part of the state government road safety initiative the local community embraced the project as it improved the safety for the local community members and those who travelled along this section of road,” Nathan said
