DM Roads delivered a Traffic Control Signals (TCS) upgrade for two major intersections as part of the Mulgoa Road, Penrith upgrade in NSW.
Over a single weekend, more than 20 team members were on duty to switch the intersection configuration as part of the first major traffic switch for the project.
Our ITS crew members are working to reduce congestion and delays at the busy intersections of Castlereagh Road/Jane Street and High Street/Mulgoa Road for morning and afternoon peak times.
The project included the installation of 27 temporary traffic signal posts over two intersections whilst simultaneously working with asphalting and line marking crews to align the intersections to their temporary configurations. The successful completion of the project was attributed to the careful planning and scheduling of work to ensure there were minimal disruptions to the public.
Project Manager, Arthur Hibbard praised the efficiency and quality of work delivered by the DM Roads ITS team.
“Mulgoa Road, Penrith upgrade is a challenging and unique intersection improvement project. Over one weekend DM Roads successfully staged two new sets of temporary traffic signals to allow for a new road alignment configuration between two intersections,” he said.
