The Bus Priority Infrastructure Program office (BPIP) have chosen DM Roads as the Service Provider of Sydney North Zone and ITS Sydney Stewardship Maintenance Contracts (PSMC) to construct a dedicated Bus Lane on Smith St and Wilde Ave from Victoria Rd to Darcey St in Parramatta CBD. This project is phase 1 of a 2 stage project for BPIP .

 The newly constructed bus lane and associated works were proposed to improve bus travel times for services entering and exiting Parramatta CBD through a busy public transport corridor.

 The scope of works included a selected deep lift asphalt rehabilitation patching to accommodate increased bus loading as well as asphalt resurfacing along Smith St and Wilde Ave. A traffic control signal upgrade; including traffic light reconfiguration and loops reinstatement at the intersection of:

  • Philip St and Smith St;
  • Macquarie St and Smith St; and
  • George St and Smith St in accordance with AFC drawings

 

 An installation of new red coloured surface epoxy bus lane in accordance with Approves For Construction (AFC) drawings, lane reconfiguration within the existing carriageway to provide dedicated kerb side bus lane and associated line and pavement marking including arrows, chevrons and transition line markings and signage changes including removal, relocation and provision of new signs.
